Sharh Wasitat al-Suluk is Imam al-Sanusi's auto-commentary on his own treatise Wasitat al-Suluk — an exposition of the spiritual path that combines Ashari aqida with practical Sufi tarbiya. Where the Sanusi corpus is best known for its graduated aqida texts (al-Muqaddimat, al-Sughra al-Sughra, al-Sughra/Umm al-Barahin, al-Wusta, al-Kubra) and their commentaries, the Wasita and its commentary open the same author's thought on the inner sciences. The result is a uniquely-integrated presentation of Maliki-Ashari-Sufi spirituality from one of its formative voices.

About The Author

Imam Abu Abd Allah Muhammad b. Yusuf al-Sanusi (832-895 AH / 1427-1490 CE) was a Tlemceni Maliki scholar whose creedal works became the standard aqida curriculum of the Maliki-Ashari world from Morocco to West Africa. His Umm al-Barahin (al-Aqida al-Sughra) and the graduated series of texts around it have been continuously taught for more than five centuries.

"شرح واسطة السلوك" شرحُ الإمام السنوسي على رسالته "واسطة السلوك" — تَقْرير للطريق الروحي يَجْمَع بين العقيدة الأشعرية والتربية الصوفية العملية. حيث اشْتُهرت مؤلَّفات السنوسي بِسلسلتها العَقَدية المتدرّجة (المقدمات، الصغرى الصغرى، الصغرى/أمّ البراهين، الوسطى، الكبرى) وشروحها، تَفْتَح هذه الرسالة وشرحُها بابَ المؤلِّف إلى علوم الباطن — فيكون عَرْضاً مُكامِلاً للسلوك المالكي الأشعري الصوفي من أحد أبرز أصواته التأسيسيّة.

عن المؤلف

الإمام أبو عبد الله محمد بن يوسف السنوسي (٨٣٢-٨٩٥ هـ) عالمٌ مالكيٌّ تلمسانيٌّ صارت كتبُه العَقَدية منهجَ العقيدة المعتمد في عالم المالكية الأشعرية من المغرب إلى غرب أفريقيا. "أمّ البراهين" (العقيدة الصغرى) والسلسلة المتدرّجة حولها تُدْرَس منذ خمسة قرون.
